Kia ora, Welcome to my first Vlog. I've started this Vlog to share a design process for contemporary taa moko (kiritaa, maaori tattoo etc). This is a calf piece from today. I will try to cover a range of body placements and hope that people will find something useful from seeing the process, when deciding to receive this type of tattoo for themselves. Note: This is one process, this is not necessarily the same process as other practitioners. I draw on my background in te ao toi Maaori; art, carving, design and geographic knowledge to design my work. Designs are freehand drawn directly on the skin (no stencils) and are based on the conversation had at the start of each session.
